The new Street Rod boasts a more aggressive appearance, and Harley has equipped it with a higher-output Revolution X 749cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine. Harley claims that the new engine has an 18% increase in power and an 18% increase in torque.
The new engine platform has been optimized in the intake manifold, throttle body, camshaft, and cylinder head, and a larger muffler has been added. The engine's compression ratio has also been increased from 11:1 to 12:1. The engine's maximum speed has also been increased to 9000 rpm.
The chassis has also been optimized, with a more compact structure. The rake angle has been changed from 32 degrees to 27 degrees for faster steering. The rear suspension has been upgraded to a hydraulic version with increased travel. Harley claims that the new bike's ride comfort has improved by 31%.
"The Street Rod is the most agile motorcycle in the current Harley lineup," said Mathew Weber, chief engineer of the new Street Rod. "The tires, wheels, suspension, and chassis geometry work together to provide light, precise handling."
In the past, the biggest drawback of the standard Street 750 was the brakes. The single front and rear disc brake configuration made it difficult to feel the initial braking force. The new bike has upgraded to dual front disc brakes.
With stronger power, better suspension and chassis structure, and better brakes, the new Street Rod may become a new star model in Harley's lineup.
According to the introduction, after its launch in the United States, the base price (excluding tax) is $8699, approximately RMB 60126. Adding ABS costs an additional $750.
